Radha Sapthami - The Main Festival of Lord Sri Suryanarayana Swamy Varu

This is the main festival of Lord Sri Suryanarayana Swamy Varu. Lord Sri Suryanarayanaswamy vari temples are two in India one is at Arasavalli 1 km away from Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh and another one at Konark. This is the main festival of Sri Suryanarayana Swamy varu.

In the universe, there may be people who do not believe in God but the God, which can be seen by every one, is Lord Sri Suryanarayana Swamy (Sun) who showers light on the entire living beings. Sun God is known as Aditya and showers his blessings on the entire world irrespective of the caste, color and creed. He energies the living beings with his rays. There are many names to Lord Viz., Savita, Ravi, Arkudu, Bhaskarudu, Banudu, Divakarudu.

Each name has its own effects. Over all Sun God is known as Aditya Hrudayam. It is a belief that our country goes into light from darkness from this day every year. The winter season ceases & spring season starts. Our bodies will have a chemical reaction with the sun rays & we become healthy. Mythologically, it is said to be Sun Gods birthday. Special rays & vibrations are supposed to be present in the temple premises & it is also said that devotees taking Teertha Prasadams will be blessed with wealth & health.

Lord Surya Narayana Swamy has a chariot with one wheel & there are seven horses representing the seven VIBGYOR colors of light. History says that Lord Rama worshipped Surya before killing Ravana.

On this auspicious day devotees in huge number have the Darshan of Lord Sri Suryanarayana Swamy and will be allowed to have Nija Rupa Darshan from 6am - 5pm.

“Harshavilli purivasam, Chayosha Padminiyutham
Suryanarayana Devam Nowni Sarvatha Dayakam”

The famous Sun God Temple is one of the ancient and all among two Sun God temples in our country. According to Padmapuranam, Sage Kasyapa installed the idol of Surya at Arasavalli for the welfare of mankind. Therefore, the Surya is of Kasyapasa Gotra. He is also termed as planetary Kind. The ‘Sthalapuranam’ of the temple narrates that lord Devendra had founded this temple and installed the existing idol of the Sun God commonly known as Lord Suryanarayana Swamy Varu under the following circumstances.

Once Lord Devendra, ignoring the words of Dwarapalaka Nandi, attempted to force his entry for Darshan of Sri Rudrakoteswara Swamy Varu at an untimely hour when Lord Siva was along with his consort. The Dwarapalaka Nandi in the discharge of his duties kicked the intruder. Thus kicked and injured by the Devine attendant Indra fell down senseless. And in his unconscious state Indra dreamt that he would be relieved of his pain of injury in his chest caused by Nandi if he built a temple and installed an idol of the Sun God. After regaining his consciousness, he remembered what he dreamt. Following his dream he picked up handfuls of earth three times at a place where he lay, and there he found this beautiful idol of Sun God with three consorts Usha, Chaya and Padmini At the base of the idols are the figures of Mathara and Pingala the Dwarapalakas and high up are the two divine saints, Sankara and Sanadana holding ‘Chatrams’. The Sun God is depicted as riding over a chariot drawn by Anura, the Rathasaradhy. All these figures are exquisitely carved out of a single black finely polished granite stone.

Aditya Hrudayam

Aditya Hridayam Stotra, also spelled Aditya Hrudaya or Aditya Hrudayam, is the powerful Vedic hymns addressed to Lord Surya (the Sun God). Aditya Hridayam verses are found in 107th chapter of Yudha Kanda in the great epic The Ramayana, written by Valmiki.

Lord Rama (Ramachander) becomes exhausted after the long battle with various fighters in order to rescue Sita Devi, who was earlier kidnapped from Ravana. At this time Sage Agastya (Agasthya) approaches to Lord Sri Ram and teaches the greatness and advantages of worshiping Lord Surya for strength and defeating the enemies. Sage Agasthya teaches Lord Rama the great Aditya Hridayam and Shri Rama was capable of easily defeating Ravana after reciting the stotra.

It can be read anywhere and anytime.

Here is the Aditya Hridayam Stotra Lyrics in Devanagiri Script and its English Traslation. The devotional video song of Aditya Hridayam is provided after the lyrics. Make sure to play the Video Song and read the lyrics while hearing it. This helps you to pronounce each verses correctly.

Flying fish

Exocoetidae, aptly known as flying fish, are a marine fish family comprising about 64 species grouped in seven to nine genera. Flying fish are found in all of the major oceans, particularly in the warm tropical and subtropical waters of the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian oceans. Their most striking feature is their pectoral fins, which are unusually large, and enable the fish to hide and escape from predators by leaping out of the water, taking short glided flights through air just above the water's surface. Their glides are typically around 50 m (160 ft), but they can use updrafts at the leading edge of waves to cover distances of at least 400 m (1,300 ft).

Gliding Mechanism

In order to glide upward out of the water, a flying fish moves its tail to up to 70 times per second, which "vibrates" to produce enough speed to burst through the surface. It then spreads its pectoral fins and tilts them slightly upwards to lift itself to glide through the air. This permits it to sail above the ocean's surface where it can travel at speeds of more than 70 km/h. The fish is able to increase its time in the air by travelling against or at an angle to the direction of updrafts created by a combination of air currents and ocean currents in which the "wings" flutter due to the wind with a maximum glide time recorded to be 30 s.At the end of a glide, a flying fish folds up its pectoral fins which have been acting like "wings" to reenter the sea or drops the lower end its tail into the water where it "vibrates" the lower part of its tail to allow its body to reaccelerate and change direction, providing the thrust to lift itself for another glide. The aerodynamic shape of a flying fish "wing" is comparable to that of a bird's wing as bones of the fish produce a curved profile that helps generate lift during flight.Flying fish also have been recorded to glide 6 metres above the sea where some accounts have them land on ships' decks. A number of differences exist for the flying fish to glide. This depends on the number of fins it has which act as "wings" when out of the water. Genus Exocoetus has a pair of fins and a streamlined the body to optimise for speed while Cypselurus has a flattened body and two pairs of fins which maximises its ability to lift itself out of the water. At best, the longest known glide made by a flying fish genus Cypselurus is reported sailing 200 m or more.

Mahatma Gandhi's Funeral-rare photos (MUST SEE)

On Friday 30 January 1948, Gandhi woke up at his usual hour, 3:30 a.m. After the morning prayer he put the final touches to the new constitution for Congress which he had been unable to finish the previous night. The rest of the morning was spent answering letters. Someone mentioned the fact that despite his poor health he was working incessantly. 'Tomorrow', he explained, 'I may not be here'. Gandhi would not permit those who attended the prayer meetings: 'If I have to die I should like to die at the prayer meeting. You are wrong in believing that you can protect me from harm. God is my protector.' Mahatma Gandhi's body lay on the pyre with his head to the north. In that position Buddha met his end. At 4:45 p.m., Ramdas, the third son of the Mahatma, set fire to the funeral pyre. The logs burst into flames. The vast assemblage groaned. Women wailed; men wept. The wood crackled and seethed and the flames united into a single fire. Now there was silence. Gandhi's body was being reduced to ashes and cinders. A nation's father was dead. Baabai in US - Abbayi in AP

NTR calls Venkatesh as baabai, because he is also a batch mate of his real baabai Balayya. The news is Sankranthi releases Adurs and Namo Venkatesa collections are impressive now. But while Namo Venkatesa is making good collections in USA, Adurs is making good collections in AP. The other film Sambho Siva Sambho failed in USA but got mixed talk in AP. The fourth film Om Shanthi has got no traces of success anywhere. The family audiences are voting for Namo Venkatesa when compared to Adurs. The Telangana fervor has turned out to be a boon for Adurs as publicity. Namo Venkatesa is getting mileage just for the reason of Srinu Vaitla’s image and family entertainer talk.

Interview with Abhinaya, A Telugu Girl...

Abhinaya: a performer against all odds

It is said that you can see a person’s soul by looking into their eyes. Gestures can convey far more than what words can. And this is more true in the case of 19 year old Abhinaya, whose name means ‘to perform’ and she is a performer, an actress. And what is special about this youngstser? One might ask. Abhinaya has worked against all odds and overcome her disabilities to become an actress. Abhinaya is deaf and mute by birth.

Born to Mr Anand Varma , an ex serviceman with the Indian Air Force and , Mrs Hemalatha ,a house wife, Abhinaya did not cry or react to any sounds for almost two weeks after birth. Even though her parents informed the doctor about this their pleas were not heard. For two years Abhinaya did not stand, crawl or even sit by herself. It was only after consultations with many doctors that her parents were guiding along the right path. Abhinaya was enrolled into the Oral School for the deaf at Marredpalli where she was rehabilitated. Abhinaya went on to study at the Montessori School and St Ann’s School in Taranaka. “Even though I studied in normal schools I could not complete my education. I have studied only up to the 7th standard because of difficulties that I had faced. But I intent to at least finish 10th standard” says this chirpy girl with the never-say-die attitude.

It was Abhinaya’s father who encouraged his daughter to act, an unlikely field for a girl with her kind of challenges. On the day she was born I knew that I wanted her to become an actress and that is why I named her as ‘Abhinaya’, said the visibly proud father, who has acted in a couple of films himself “I used to take her to film shootings. Every time she would see a film poster she would gesture that she wanted to be on them. We have only encouraged her thereafter”.

After a Cochlear Implant surgery at the age of 12 years Abhinaya was able to distinguish beats of different sounds “I can make out different beats. We speak English at home, mostly. So I can make out the difference in the sounds in that language.” said Abhinaya, who communicates with the help of her mother’s translations. In fact it is Mrs Hemalatha , who reads and translates the scripts to Abhinaya. Before a shoot Mrs Hemalatha translates the dialogues and explains what expression is needed and what lip movements are required.

Her first movie break came when Tamil film director Samudra Kanni spotted her photographs and asked her to star in his movie ‘Nadodigal’ “My father would meet with directors and producers he knew and tell them about me. Once he had given my snaps to Malayalam director Sleeba and it was near him that director Samudra Kanni saw me. After knowing about me he wanted to prove that nothing is impossible and signed me on to act in his movie.” Both director Samudra Kanni and Abhinaya were lauded for their work by the audiences as well as the critics.

I owe it all to my parents. My mother has worked hard. A day before the shoot my mother sits with the director and asks him what needs to be done. She then tells me the dialogues and how to perform. The first time I saw myself on screen I touched my parents’ feet and cried. It is only because of them that I am what I am today. When they see my pictures in the paper and posters, the happiness that my parents and brothers feel, knows no bounds.

Abhinaya is presently on a roll, having acted as actor Ravi Teja’s sister in the formers latest film ‘Sambho Siva Sambho’ also starring Allari Naresh and Siva Balaji. Abhinaya is now getting set to work in her second Tamil film to be directed by Shashi Kumar. “Once I have achieved what I have set out for, I would like to help the poor live a better life saying this ever smiling girl who becomes an inspiration for whom ever she meets.

Adhurs Movie Review

Adhurs is the most awaited movie of the season and it is the movie which has more expectations that it will rock the box office..We will see how it went and how it will go forward...

Plot:

Its the Story of a twin brothers who are separated after their birth and later how their characters are and how they meet again is the plot with some entertainment and some commercial elements.

Performances:

NTR Rocked in two roles One is Chari and the other one is Narasimha, Chari's Role is Good at entertaining the audiences and the Narasimha's role is filled with some stylish and action episodes. Dance moments done by NTR are the Highlights of the movie especially for the songs
"Pilla Naa Valla kadu..." and "Adhurs Title Song..".

Nayanatara is ok and sheela got a glamourous role in which she did her best...

Brahmanandam is an important character with two shades, first half he will be Guru for Chari and the second half tries to take revenge on Chari. This is one of the best Roles of "Brahmi" and i have no words to describe his performance.

Technicians Work:

Choreography for all songs are visual treat, especially "Chandra Kala..", "Chari.." songs are composed well.

Cinematography of the movie is upto the mark, It would be better when taking some extra care while making scenes with animated background.

Art of the movie is too good, thats the main reason where many scenes are visually beautiful. but, scenes where the animation is involved are to be developed even better.

Music is the highlight of the movie and all know that the audio is already rocking..
Coming to the background score..Devi did a good job by elevating the scenes with his music.

Screenplay is good and not even a single minute where a spectator can feel boredome.

Fights in the movie are good but need some improvement towards making them realistic.

Direction is the department where all the above sections are to be taken care perfectly.

It is good but can be better...

Highlights:

1. NTR's Dances and Performance
2. Brahmi's Performance
3. Comedy by all the comedians
4. Songs

Dissappointments:

1. Lyrics Changed in the Chari song instead of "pilaka juttu" and "niluva bottu", "patha bike" and "old style" has been replaced.
2. Some action scenes and animated scenes.

Finally:

Its the Hattrick combination of V.V.Vinayak and Tarak (NTR) and i can definitely say that it scored good marks from the audiences. We need to wait and see how its result will be at box office whether a "HIT" or "Super Hit".

My Rating:
3.5/5

Rajamouli's Interview Regarding his Past and Future Projects...

S S Rajamouli is on cloud 9 after the stupendous success of “Magadheera”. The film has been declared an Industry hit and it still rules the box office even after 100 days of its release. He talks about his films, future projects and his dream to make a full fledged mythological film in this candid chit chat…

Rajamouli garu… Congratulations on the huge success of “Magadheera”. The film has recently completed its 50 run. How are you enjoying the success?

50 days is something which I don’t give much importance to. For many years now we have been celebrating 50 days, 100 days functions with great fervor, which really doesn’t matter. So I thought I would distance myself from this 50-100 days long back. I am not at all involved in that. But I am obviously very very happy with the film doing so well even after so many days.

Your film has also been released in other states like Gujarat, West Bengal and also in 12 other countries. What is the kind of response you have been getting from these places?

I don’t really know about the response from these places.

What do you think are the reasons behind this overwhelming success? In spite of new releases, it’s still ruling the box office…

I was thinking about it for so long about it. I mean, none of us were expecting such a big success. I was trying to analyze, thinking about why it’s such a big success. Maybe people have seen what they have never seen on screen before. I think that’s the reason why people are coming back again and again, but I am not sure.

If given a chance, would you like to change anything in the movie? Maybe people will watch the film again to understand your point of view.

There are so many things which I want to change about the movie. Why will people watch it because I found something wrong in the movie? (laughs)…. I don’t know…there arise many things. It’s not that I would want to remove an entire scene. Probably I would have put more pain in the hero’s character in the flashback.

We have also heard that there are plans of remaking the film in Tamil and Hindi. Is that true?

It’s all just in very early planning stages. Nothing concrete has been decided about it. I don’t know, probably I will do it if time permits. As of now I have some commitments, if the proposed project is after that probably I will look at it.

Your wife, Rama Rajamouli has been contributing a lot to your films. Will we see her as a director sometime soon?

No. She isn’t, luckily… (smiles).

One thing which we have observed is, a lot of your movies have a specific formula with a very intense flashback. Is that intentional?

That is probably the only way I know how to make movies. Other than that there’s nothing intentional about it.

With “Magadheera” you have ventured into “Romance” genre, which probably wasn’t the main theme in your previous movies. What other genres would you like to try?

It’s not that I want to try a specific genre. I don’t make a movie to try out some genre. If I find a story that is interesting I will make it. And most of the time, it’s a high voltage action entertainer. Luckily in this film, it was a romance based story. It wasn’t an intentional choice.

You had once quoted that you first choose a hero and then write a script. Is there someone whom you would like to work with?

Not really. Basically why I go for stars is, they have bigger budgets which allows me to make bigger movies. I don’t have any preference as such.

You have been in the film industry for quite a long time now. Whom do you consider to be your major influence as a director?

I don’t know. None of the directors either contemporary, or seniors or from other film industries have had an influence on me. I like some directors, but that doesn’t mean that I like all their movies. It’s the movies that influence me, Braveheart for instance.

Nowadays there are quite a few youngsters making their debut in Tollywood. What would be your advice to them?

I never give advices to anyone.

Tell us about your new projects?

I am starting a new film with Sunil. The shooting for this new film will start next month. And after that I think it will be with Prabhas.

We have seen some really extravagant episodes in films like “Yamadonga” and “Magadheera” which had a fantasy, mythology concept. Can we expect a full fledged film with a mythology backdrop from you?

Yeah. That is the whole intention. My dream is to make a full fledged pauranikam, janapadam, folklore or mythological films.

What are the constraints that challenge you from making a pauranikam..?

Budget constraints. If 4 reels of Magadheera becomes the highest budgeted film, how can I make a 16 reel film within the same budget? That is a code which I have to crack and I think I will crack it soon.

Your messages to the readers of Kalyan's Blog..?

(laughs) I just said that I never give advices….but if you insist, then all I can say to the new directors is “Try to do a film which you like and not what others like.”

NTR to do 7even Roles in a forth coming venture with Vinay

Young tiger NTR junior is all set to arrive with his new movie ‘Adhurs’. This is directed by the mass hit director V V Vinayak and this is going to be the third time that both of them are coming together. Both junior and V V are known to be thick pals and now, another project is likely to arrive.

Sources reveal that the film is going to be a hard hitting action entertainer but the highlight is that NTR would be seen portraying not one or two but seven different characters and all of them would be action oriented. This is said to be the master script being designed by V V for his friend.

It is also heard that the film would be titled ‘Seven’ for obvious reasons and it has nothing to do with the legendary masterpiece ‘Dana Veera Soora Karna’ which had the great NTR, grandfather of junior, portray 3 roles and ‘Srimadvirat Parvam’ where he played 6 roles. A formal announcement is expected soon.
