NTR Jr is a Megastar: Times of India

While most star sons and daughters you come across are busy getting away from the shadows of their parents and leave no stone unturned to refrain from being typecast mega star NTR Jr, the grand son of NTR, is the opposite.



Indeed, he candidly confesses that being born in a star family helped him kick start his career enormously. “It (being a megastar’s grandson) helped me largely in the first movie itself because people believe that you have the same aura and capabilities as your grandfather. But after that an actor can only bank upon his acting skills. I love being called NTR’s grandson. I never moved away from his shadow may be because I didn’t try enough or may be because I like it this way,” says NTR Jr, who is currently shooting in Jaipur for his upcoming mega-budget film Sakthi.

Needless to say, making the most of the opportunity, NTR explored Rajasthan as much as “his hectic schedule allowed” him. “I went to Ajmer just after coming to Jaipur as my mom wanted me to pay obeisance at the dargah. I have also been to Pushkar and will now get to see Jodhpur when we go there for the shoot. This place has loads of beauty and when you shoot here, it gives you a royal feel. In fact when audience knows that the film is being shot in Rajasthan, they also have expectations of relishing the majestic locales on screen.”

And contrary to his perception - that he is not well-known in North India - the star finds his fan following where ever he goes. “I think some of my films like Kantri have been dubbed in Hindi because I had thought who would know me here? But at Pushkar people recognised me and were shouting my film’s name. Isn’t that fabulous? South comprises of a mixed community but in North there are fewer South Indians and there’s a vast difference between both. I was like wow people do recognise you here?”

Down south the star is treated as a demigod with his fans bathing the actor’s cutout with milk before his film’s release, will he ever take a plunge in Bollywood? “Never,” pat comes the reply and he adds, “I am happy being king down south. It’s my world and I am destined to be here (Telugu film industry) I don’t even want to try my luck in Tamil films, but I might think of Bollywood at some later stage.”

Indeed NTR doesn’t even want to change his image of a commercial hero and is not upbeat about being too experimental. “I am a commercial hero and I will never leave that genre. And having an image of a mass hero I will spoil the whole script in the wake of being too experimental. Then there are boundaries around a mass stirrer like me - audience buy the tickets of NTR Junior’s film with a larger-than-life image of his in their mind, who would give them an action-packed performance. So, I can’t flout the boundaries and disappoint them.” Point taken!

But would he ever take to direction or writing? “I believe in doing what I am best at. I don’t want to waste my energy in other things instead I would put all that in reaching the next level in a craft that I love the most.” As he once campaigned for TDP, do we see him donning the hat of a politician in the near future? “It is a different chapter of my life and I am not ready to open it now. Movies are my life and politics is a responsibility. I think I am too young for that.” However, it is surely the right age to tie the knot, so why the delay? But the shy actor makes a clean sweep from giving the reply, as he says, “I am a very shy person, who is just close to himself. So I would refrain from talking about my personal life.”

Differences between .Net Framework 1.1, 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5

Microsoft is always been stepping ahead of its competitors by bringing great new features and products in the market. Specially for developers Microsoft based technologies are like a dream come true. Considering from development point of view the latest product in Microsoft Box is Visual Studio 2008. The new development environment comes with tons of new features and design differences. .Net Framework 3.5 is ready to make futuristic websites with its extremely easy to use interface, rich accessibility features and new design that allows to reduce the time and efforts in website development.

One thing that was lagging in .net framework 2.0 was multi targeting. As in .Net framework 2.0 or framework 1.1 there was a separation in terms of development. Like one builds a site in framework 1.1 would have to use Visual Studio 2003, and for development in framework 2.0 we need to work in Visual Studio 2005. What Visual Studio 2008 has offered a great new experience to target multiple frameworks in one place.

Major advancements have arrived in new framework. Ajax extensions comes built in in .net framework 3.5. Support to place web parts in update panel is also supported.This new built in support has allowed us to create more rich and cross platform Ajax application easier. Apart from this, the extensive set of Ajax templates are also provided in the new framework support. ASP.net 3.5 enhancements for Ajax are totally rewritten for performance and new control types. The existing role management, authentication and authorization are now available as a service. Now we can merge two or more assemblies into one .net assembly with the new .net merge tool. The new controls introduced in Asp.net are LinqDataSource, ListView and DataPager.

Talking of framework 3.5, if is a sequel to framework 3.0, and is the latest in frameworks. Its service pack 1 has been released but it is still not comes in windows server 2008. Microsoft has also release a beta version of Framework 4 and Visual Studio 2010 which is available for download.

One of the major advancement in Framework 3 and 3.5 is LINQ, though we can use LINQ in Framework 2 as well after installing a separate executable, which is now fully supported automatically. Linq allows us to use and interact with data as an object. Now no matter what type of data we have we can play with them using Linq easily. In Figure below we can have an understanding of the architecture of Linq.

There is rich support for JavaScript coding, debugging, profiling and management in new framework. There is added extended support for JSON, there is design time code validation and checks, also, new design time editor support is provided.

More notable of point is that .Net 3.5 is not visible in IIS as a separate version, we can just see .Net 2.0 even if there is .Net framework 3.5 installed. Even in windows .Net framework folder, the .Net Framework 3.5 core files reside in .Net framework 2.0 folder and only WPF and WCF libraries are in Framework 3.5 folder. This means that Framework 3 or 3.5 is a wrapper upgrade to Framework 2.0, with support for cross platform and cross framework integration and development.

All in all, .Net framework 3.0 and above is lot more enhanced and still getting better for Rich Internet Applications and Service oriented applications. It is keep getting better and better. As Microsoft's passion is our satisfaction.

Gautham Menon's Manuscript about his latest flick Ye Maya Chesave

1. Kundanapu Bomma
Kundanapu Bomma translates as “Beautiful girl”.…Jessie-our female lead is a simple, conservative girl from Kerala who the male lead-karthik falls head over heels in love with at first sight. This dreamy number starts off with a touch of music that reminds you of the Far East. The feel continues, very subtly, with the nagaswaram forming the backdrop playing the Bilahari raga. Christian tradition defines Hosanna as the cry of adoration of the Messiahship of Jesus on his entry into Jerusalem’. Rahman has boldly adopted it to express the joy that erupts in the heart of the hero when his soul mate walks into his life. This lovely number, a mix of a few genres, is richly layered with violin, flute and many other instruments and conceived very differently too. We hear bits of Mohanam and Natabairavi notes all along.

Frantic appeals from the hero to his girlfriend to come back and heal him and the rhythms also have a fitting urgency about them. The shorter lines of the second charanam also carry the mood along. Neat notes from the strings for this number which seems to be based on the Harikamboji raga scale

6. Vintunaavaa

Vocals: Karthik, Shreya Ghosal
Lyrics: Anantha Sriram

Sabaash Rahman, for weaving some very pertinent Tirukkural couplets into this song, which has penitence as its strong underlying mood. Shreya’s voice conveys myriad moods as she moves softly through the song to the sweet accompaniment of guitars and violin. Again an unconventionally textured song.

7. Aaromale (Malayalam)

Lyrics: Kaithapram

Oh, this song just defies description! But it has a Rahman-esque addictive charm that cannot be ignored. Sad and pleasant moods alternate. A curious blend of guitars and malayala lyrics. The gentle rhythms that break out with the line’swasti swasti sumuhurtham’ cut into the sobriety of the song in a refreshing manner. You need some repeated listening to savour this.
